Local volunteers are continuing to head out to work on their adopted trails. People who are interested in helping with this trail maintenance are encouraged to come join in the fun.

Here is some information about some sessions that are coming up soon:

  • This Thursday evening, June 2, 6 – 8 p.m. Meet at the Adams Gulch Trailhead. Adopter Mason Frederickson and friends will be working on the Adams-Lake Creek Connector Trail #321.
  • Sunday, June 5. Meet at the Oregon Gulch Trailhead at 7 a.m. The adopters, Eric Heywood and friends, will be working on the lower portion of their adopted trail, Oregon Gulch Trail #183. We are not sure yet when quitting time will be. I’ll update that portion of this message when that becomes available. For now, plan on working until you have had enough.
  • Wednesday, June 8. Meet at the Fox Creek Trailhead. Work is from 6 to 8 p.m. with Julian Tyo and friends, the adopters of the Oregon-Fox Connector Trail #311.
  • Thursday, June 9. Meet at the Adams Gulch Trailhead. Work is from 6 to 8 p.m. with the Wood River Bike Coalition. The coalition will be working on their adopted trail, Forbidden Fruit Trail #159.

Wear sturdy boots or shoes, gloves, long pants, and eye protection. Long sleeves are nice for reducing scratches to the arms when clearing brush. Bring some water to drink and perhaps a energy bar or other snack for a little fuel out on the trail. A rain coat and appropriate extra layers are always a good thing to have along. No dogs please as sharp tools and playful pups don’t mix. Minors must be accompanied by their parent or guardian so that they can be officially signed in as a volunteer.
