On Thurday, July 26, intrepid volunteers converged on the Barr Gulch Trail #168. Eleven workers cut back plants that were choking the travel way, installed drains, repaired ruts, and built a re-route around a section that had slid into the creek.

The trail is about 15 miles west of Ketchum on Warm Springs Road. It is accessed off of an old two-track road that is one-mile long, steep and rutted. Getting to Barr Gulch Tr. takes some effort, but its a nice, lightly used path, so struggling to get up to it has its pay-offs.
The trail starts out as a singletrack, then it gives way to an old logging road-cut. It is not too long before it changes back to singletrack again, as it works its way up through meadowy hillsides and lightly forested slopes, toward a high intersection with the Osberg Ridgeline Trail #147. Abundant trailside wildflowers, and the views from the trail of the nearby Bear Peak are lovely.
