On Thursday night, Sept. 27, six volunteers took part in the final BCRD Adopt-A-Trail Night of the 2018 season. Making repairs to the BLM Lake Creek Trailhead footbridge was the project.
The BLM‘s John Kurtz and Mike Houser brought the materials and tools, and they had all the replacement boards pre-drilled and cut to length. The volunteers hauled the new lumber in, and the old out, and they wrenched and pried and pounded. By the end of the night they had finished the first phase of the planned for repairs.
The 2018 season saw 116 volunteers contributing 232 hours of volunteer labor to our area trails through the BCRD Adopt-A-Trail program. Eleven evening work sessions were held with maintenance performed on Harper’s, Imperial, Parker, Fox, Mahoney, Adams Rib, Barr, Aspen, Oregon, and Greenhorn trails.
Thanks to Clif Bar and Sawtooth Brewery for being product sponsors of the BCRD Adopt-A-Trail Nights.
Thank you bridge crew volunteers Mike and Chris Keenan, David Hoversland, Steve Edsall, Chip Deffe’, and Gary Gruver.
