Teams Tackle Trail Work

Improving a drain on Nadya’s Trail.

Last Wednesday night, May 29, Wood River High School and Middle School Mountain Bike Team members, parents and coaches ganged up on trail maintenance tasks on the BLM Croy Trails.

Around 30 volunteers worked on a variety of projects. On Nadya’s Trail a group of team members, and their coaches, dug in the dirt and mud. All to make improvements to the trail’s drains.

Another group headed up Two Dog Trail, cleaning out drains and raking rocks off of the backslope and tread. Then they worked their way down Wilson Gulch Trail, to complete their loop of work.

Yet a third group hauled in bridge parts. The parts were for the improvement of a narrow footbridge found along the Two Dog Trail. They carried in the parts, installed them, and then worked their way out; raking and shoveling as they went.

The volunteer work session was organized jointly by the Wood River High School and Middle School Mountain Bike Teams, Wood River Trails Coalition, BCRD, and BLM Shoshone Field Office.

Thank you to all the volunteers and leaders, and GO WOLVERINES!
